Everything But BikesEverything But Bikes requested a new, updated look to their site as well as an online shop to attract more customers. Using e-commerce software from Avactis, we were able to give the client the ability to add their entire product catalogue to their site. E-Commerce When we were given the task of adding an online shop to the site, we shopped around (excuse the pun) to find a solution that we could easily integrate into our design for the site. After much searching, we settled on Avactis as it fit the bill nicely, allowing us to control a multitude of options from countries which the client could deliver to, to currencies, right down to shipping and tax options. Furthermore, the software is relatively cheap and regularly receives updates and new features.Having chosen the e-commerce software we were going to use, we went about the lengthy task of setting up the software and customising it to fit the needs of the Everything But Bikes staff. After all this was finished, the staff were able to take over and begin adding their huge product catalogue, complete with individual photos for each product to draw their customers in! If you would like to discuss our e-commerce services, please contact us.
Elsewhere on the Site... We included our now-refined code for getting directions via Microsoft's Virtual Earth mapping service, so that visitors can get directions to the real-world shop without having to leave the site - something we'd begun to explore with our previous client, Fraser Turf. We also built a small script that displays three random items from the shop on the site's homepage, giving recurring visitors something new to look at every time they visit the site. Website Re-Design The design brief was pretty open-ended in this case - just to bring the site up to date and ensure that it was easy to navigate. We created a menu for the site pages which contrasts with everything surrounding it so that it clearly stands out from the rest of our modern design. We were also able to use photos of Charlie Williams from his TT racing days in the site's banner to round off the design nicely. You can view the finished site and shop at www.everythingbutbikes.com.
