Piran Property Services came to us to both redesign their website and build a custom content management system to enable them to add their property portfolio to their site.

Content Management 

After discussing the client's requirements, we began to build a property portfolio script onto our OmniSite Content Management System. This enabled the client to add properties to one of four categories (For Sale, For Rent, Commercial and Land) using a template with which to speed up the process. The client was also given the ability to upload as many photos as requred to accompany each property, which were then resized by the script.

Additionally, we set up a publishing date from which new properties would be visible on the site from, so the staff are able to add properties in advance without the details reaching the public until a specified date.

Other features which we added were a Property Finder to narrow down searches, a "Featured Property" section on the site's homepage and the ability for the client to change the homepage introductory text themselves to display custom messages when required.

Website Re-Design

There were very few requirements for the re-designing of the website itself which allowed us to really have fun with this part of the project.

The PPS logo was recognisable and had to remain in it's current form on a red background. To prevent the design from being flooded with one colour and to add more impact to the logo area, we moved this to the upper-left of the layout along with the address details and offset it against some light blue-greys.

To the right of the logo/address area, we added some random images (provided by the client) which change with each page load to present a different view of the area in which the properties are situated.

To make the content of the page really stand out, we off-set it against a dark grey background with a repeating pattern on it.
