StrategyCoreStrategyCore, a website covering a variety of computer games, required a dark-yet-clean design which Notanotherdotcom could integrate into their current content management system. Using promotional artwork from the games covered on the site, we created a vibrant collage for the header whilst still featuring their logo prominently. We also added a "Section Jump" drop-down menu to the top-right of the screen to easily find information on the game of your choice, as we were aware the site had a lot of links on their navigation menu already. Next we tackled advertising the games the site covers, as visitor feedback suggested this was not always easy to find out. Using collapsable menus for each game series on the left-hand navigation area enabled the visitors to easily see the games on offer as well as only seeing the links relevant to the series they're interested in once they clicked on a series link. Still working on advertising the games, we implemented a "teaser" image with a short piece of text to the right of their Latest Downlaods area at the top of the page. This displays a random image and accompanying teaser-text each time the page is loaded. Since the homepage is the most-visited, this and the previously mentioned ideas ensure that the site's visitors know exactly what's on offer and where to look for it. StrategyCore already had their own content management system in place with several hundred pages and almost a thousand images that relied on it. This didn't pose a problem, as once we had been given access to the administration area, we were easily able to alter the site layout and templates to suit without disrupting anything else. You can view the finished website at www.strategycore.co.uk or alternatively there are several screenshots which you can view in more detail by clicking on the images to the right.
